Production Manager- Event Services
General Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for managing technical operations and services across Breck Create’s portfolio of programs, festivals and managed venues including the Riverwalk Center, Breckenridge Theater, Eclipse Theater, Old Masonic Hall, Breck Create’s outdoor and festival locations and Riverwalk Center venue rentals.
This position is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all technical production requirements including stage operations, audio, lighting, video, and event staffing. In conjunction with the Director of Production and the Event Services Coordinator, the incumbent advances production related technical requirements for Breck Create events and rentals, and actively helps identify and hire key production personnel as well as procurement of all necessary rental or purchased equipment required for production operations.
The Event Services- Production Manager provides planning for ongoing technical operations and capital improvements and control for all installed audio, stage lighting, dimming, video, stage mechanics and other related technical systems and personnel.
Advanced skills in either lighting design or audio engineering are highly desirable. Thorough knowledge of stage operations, audio, lighting, and video systems is required. This is a hands-on production position leading the technical operations of Breck Create’s events and services.
This position reports directly to the Director of Production. This is an on-site position located in Breckenridge. CO. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Key responsibilities include:
• Attend BCA, partner and third-party events and functions as necessary to ensure efficiency of all technical elements for the BCA staff, touring crew, presenting artists and patrons.
• Directly operate audio, lighting, video, and stage equipment, and/or supervises production staff, contractors, and event crews in the operation of production equipment.
• In conjunction with the Director of Production and Sr. Director of Theaters + Technology, this position identifies, hires, schedules, trains and supervises production labor.
• In conjunction with the Director of Production, receive and process production rental invoices along with labor invoices and time sheets for over-hire production employees.
• Maintain a properly supplied, clean and well-organized technical areas in the RWC, including lighting and audio storage and operations areas.
• Proposes capital improvement projects and equipment purchases related to lighting, audio, video, staging and other technical equipment requirements in all BCA managed facilities.
- Actively participates as a member of the Breck Create Production and Operations team to support all Breck Create programming, supporting other areas within the organization when appropriate.
Position Requirements:
• 5-7 years experience in the areas of live audio, lighting, and video production as well as significant crew leadership and general concert and event production.
• Excellent working knowledge of all areas of production including audio, lighting, video and stage operations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure on concurrent projects with competing timelines.
• Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
• Capable of interacting effectively with diverse staff, artists, performers, traveling crews and event patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
• Strong self-initiative, problem solving skills, time management, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite, industry standard presentation software, media/video packages, lighting and audio production software and CAD programs.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and standing throughout the work day. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. alone and up to 100 lbs. as a team carry. This position also requires hearing to accurately understand information at normal spoken word levels and visual observations while operating production equipment within loud environments. Manual dexterity is required to operate standard office, production, and related theatrical equipment.
